Shinkong Textile Appoints Alex Chang As New CEO
Former Ruentex Industries executive is poised to lead Shinkong into the next phase of growth.
Shinkong Textile announced today that Alex Chang has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer.
A seasoned business leader and expert in textile production, sales, R&D, and quality assurance, Chang succeeded David Chiu and assumed responsibilities on May 16. Chiu retired after 18 years as CEO.
Prior to joining Shinkong, Alex Chang worked as EVP at Ruentex industries for 9 years, in which he presided over global operations in Taiwan, Shanghai, and New York.
A 38-year veteran of the textile industry, Chang started his career in the factory. In different capacities during his career, he oversaw factory expansion leading to capacity increase; implemented automation that shortened production lead time; optimized production flow to improve efficiency; led the R&D team in product innovations; and guided the sales team to establish long-term partnerships with brands and labels worldwide.
“We are more than a fabric supplier. We are a total textile solution provider,” said Chang in a meeting with the staff. As Shinkong Textile continues to grow and focuses on production expansion and optimization, the combination of Chang’s academic credentials, leadership experience, and expertise in textile production makes him an ideal fit to lead Shinkong Textile into a new era.
Alex Chang received his MBA from Lake Superior State University, Michigan. He also has a degree in Industrial Engineering.
